Doris Friedrich is a Senior Fellow at The Arctic Institute. Her research focuses on human-environment relations, cross-cultural communication, and geopolitics in the circumpolar north. Doris is currently writing her PhD at the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Vienna.
Doris Friedrich was previously a researcher at the Vienna University of Economics, and has worked at the Austrian Cultural Forum, the Austrian Chamber of Commerce, the European Commission, and the NGO Crisis Action.
Doris studied Global Politics at the London School of Economics (LSE) and International Business at Vienna University’s School of Economics and Business (WU). She has been on academic stays in Norway, Czech Republic, Indonesia, Spain, Costa Rica, and Alaska. During her studies, she received several awards including the St. Gallen Wings of Excellence Award and the Dr. Alois Mock-Prize for her thesis research.
