İlkin Ulu Tok is a Research Intern at The Arctic Institute and contributes to the institute’s flagship weekly publication, The Arctic This Week (TATW), where she is in charge of the “Industry, Development & Infrastructure” section.

İlkin has an MPhil in Polar Studies from the University of Cambridge, where she wrote her thesis on different political and legal strategies to facilitate ongoing scientific research in the Arctic during politically turbulent times. Her main areas of interest are Arctic governance, third-party diplomacy, mediation, space law, and social aspects of space-based geoengineering. She is currently part of Polar Educators International, where she is participating in connecting educators who are passionate about climate education and helping them create polar education materials. She holds a BA from Boğaziçi University in Political Science and International Relations, where she focused on public international law.
