Ashley Entwistle is a Research Intern at The Arctic Institute, contributing to its flagship weekly publication, The Arctic This Week (TATW). She is currently a senior at Colorado College, majoring in History and Political Science with an emphasis in International Relations and a minor in Environmental Studies.
Ashley’s academic and professional interests centre on Arctic security, climate change, and Indigenous rights. She is particularly interested in the strategic implications of China’s growing presence in the Arctic, and the legal and environmental dimensions of great power competition in the region. Previously, Ashley interned at the Arctic Centre at the University of Lapland, where she joined the International Relations team as a research assistant. She is also an alumna of the Joint Science Education Project—a glacier research initiative run collaboratively by the Naalakkersuisut, the National Science Foundation, and the Institute of Arctic Studies at Dartmouth College in Kangerlussuaq, Greenland.
