The Arctic is larger in size than you think, and not only the area within the Arctic Circle (about 66°N). A network of universities, research institutes and other organizations concerned with all aspects of studies about the Circumpolar North covers a huge area – far beyond the Arctic Circle. Using this ArcGis story map, we have provided you with a broad range of organizations working on various issues related to the Arctic region: over 200 organizations located in different countries. This map shows the locations of scientific organizations around the world that do polar research. This can include both scientific and social science topics. Click on one to read about an organization’s main areas of research, its website, and any field research locations.
