Call for 2024 Research Intern (The Arctic This Week)
The Arctic Institute (TAI) is seeking one well-qualified undergraduate or graduate student to work as a Research Intern for The Arctic Institute’s flagship publication, The Arctic This Week (TATW). The main tasks will be to write weekly summaries of important news events and compile press clips for the newsletter. The TATW intern will work closely with the TATW team to ensure work is ready for publishing each Thursday.

- Duration: From June 2024. Twelve months, with the possibility of extension based on interest, merit and Institute need
- Location: Virtual, all nationalities encouraged to apply

- The Arctic Institute is an all-volunteer organization, meaning that interns, like staff, are not paid.

Successful applicants will have:
- Completed 3+ years of university-level study in a relevant discipline (communications, journalism, international relations, environmental science, economics, sociology, etc.), or enrollment in a graduate-level program with an Arctic focus
- Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of current Arctic events
- Excellent demonstrated writing skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Native or near-native English proficiency
- Ability to work to tight deadlines; flexibility to work across time zones
