Pavel Devyatkin is a Research Associate at The Arctic Institute. He manages the Institute’s flagship weekly publication, The Arctic This Week (TATW). His research areas include Russian Arctic policy, Arctic cooperation, military and security, energy, search and rescue (SAR), mining, and maritime shipping.
Pavel is currently studying for a master’s degree in international development at the London School of Economics (LSE). Pavel is also a graduate of University College London (UCL), where he focused on politics and economics in Russia and Eastern Europe. Pavel has previously worked at the United Nations, where he helped countries in Eastern Europe and Central Asia tackle issues of land degradation and strive to achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 15. As a global citizen who grew up in New York City and lived in over five countries, Pavel is pursuing a career in international affairs and development.
